OK time to update this. I've been on here for about years and I have over 6700! followers so I think its safe to say I'm not new around here anymore. First off I want to say thanks to everyone who follows me as well as those who just stop by. I never knew there were so many people I could relate to on the internet but there it is. A few notes. 1. I'm trying to keep this safe for work but I do occasionally post NSFW things. Rarely but sorry if they pop up at work in advance. 2. I used to get a lot of probably well deserved flak for spamming the reblog too much. To that I say meh. However I do now use a que so that should be at least less of an issue. I honestly didn't use it because I didn't have the time. Please keep in mind I try to reblog the maximum 250 things a day and its sometimes really hard to find that many things that I think are worthy of reblogging. Honestly the que has made it easier to maintain this blog in some ways and harder in others. 3. As you can see from #2 I tend to ramble. 4. According to my counter(see below) only about 47% of the people who visit me are from the US. Maybe 60% are from countries that use English as a first language. To the other 40% thank you for following my blog and I'm sorry I only know English or else I would like and reblog more things in other languages. That's the beauty of tumblr though. You only need pretty or interesting pictures to catch my notice. 5. Again sorry for rambling. 6. If I don't follow you back it's nothing personal. As is I follow over 4,000 blogs so my dashboard is usually clogged to say the least. 7. Again thank you all very much for liking my blog. I wish you all the best. (Added the flag counter 2/12/14. I'm just curious to see how many people visit me and where they are from.)(I'm happy to report as of 2/12/15 I have been visited around 63,000 times. I have no words.)(as of 1/24/18 its now over 229,322 page views.)
Actual text from my sister when Katelyn debuted this “Holy shit. Katelyn Ohashi’s routine this year.”
College, and specifically UCLA, gymnastics seems like such a fun and encouraging place. I love how she’s genuinely smiling throughout the entire video and how her teammates are cheering her on and truly loving and supporting her throughout her routine. I hope we can get more of this in sports!
My favourite thing is the fact her team mates do parts of the routine with her. It’s so cute. And I love her
Whoa! She’s fantastic and y’all know I love Michael ❤️
Not only is this spectacular, but I had R-E-S-P-E-C-T playing when I scrolled upon it, and it SYNCED UP SO WELL HOLY CRAP!
Pretty convenient that a lot of American students never learn that Einstein was a Jew who came to America and started the nuclear research after fleeing from the Nazis and having most of his research lost in the book burnings.
Or how much of his life and work was shaped by his autism, like how it was his biggest asset because it allowed him to think differently, but also his biggest hurtle because of all the abuse he received in school from teachers who labeled him as a dunce and told him he was stupid because of his disability. Which he proved wrong by discovering the theory of relativity because of his autism instead of in spite of it.
EVEN THOUGH THOSE ARE THE TWO MOST RELEVANT DETAILS OF HIS LIFE THAT EXPLAIN HOW AND WHY HE DID ALMOST EVERYTHING HE DID. But nah, Im sure diversity wasn’t relevant enough to be important in this situation.
Its almost like we have a biased school system that censors the accomplishments of marginalized groups to stop them from realizing that people like them have accomplished things.
He taught at Lincoln University after he was told black students couldn’t attend his lectures at other colleges and universities.
Article quote: “In 1946, Einstein, the Nobel Prize-winning physicist traveled to Lincoln University where he gave a speech in which he called racism “a disease of white people,” and added, “I do not intend to be quiet about it.” Lincoln was the first school in the United States to grant college degrees to blacks.”
I’m replaying Bioshock and I forgot about this photo of Andrew Ryan, which he puts on a screen when he’s giving you a big tough guy threat
The fact that Ryan posed in a big trench coat and fedora, forced someone to take a photo, and used it as his fucking forum signature is completely ridiculous yet at the same time extremely in character.
